Winter 2023-2024
8th December, 12th January, 9th February, 8th March
We start with all the news about Space and Astronomy, what our young astronomers have seen and done. We then have one or two themed talks with activities including simple experiments, audience participation, demonstrations, etc.
If clear, we always prioritise observing through telescopes and binoculars with a guide to finding your way around the night sky.
Our aim is to kindle an interest in Astronomy and Space, rather than to provide a formal course in astronomy. Some of our young astronomers give their own talks and demonstrations.
Meetings are held on the second Friday of the month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at St Mary's Church Hall, Coppice Row, Theydon Bois. Parking is available at the front of the hall. We do not meet in April or August, which usually concide with school holidays.
If you think your young astronomer(s) would like to join our group in Theydon Bois, please use the Contact us link.
