Each month usually has a themed talk, with additional activities including simple experiments, audience participation, demonstrations, show and tell, quizzes, and finding your way around the night sky. If clear, we always prioritise observing through telescopes and binoculars. Our aim is to kindle an interest in Astronomy and Space, rather than to provide a formal course in astronomy. Some of our young astronomers give their own talks and demonstrations.
Meetings are held on the second Friday of the month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at St Mary's Church Hall, Coppice Row, Theydon Bois. Parking is available at the front of the hall. We do not meet in August or April, which usually concide with school holidays.
If you think your young astronomer(s) would like to join our group in Theydon Bois, please use the 'contact us' link above.
